Today was a day off for my husband so that meant…. family time running errands! (we’re such parents) But it was fun errands. First stop: the ReStore. A great place to find used building material with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. I was on the hunt for make-shift frames for my upcoming photo exhibit (featuring 60 photos!). We almost left empty-handed, but at the last minute, Chad came up with a great idea. You’ll have to come to my show to see what came of it!

Next stop was Aqua Books, Chad’s favourite book store. And that’s where my photo of the week was taken. They have a couple awesome chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and I couldn’t help but take a few photos.

Final stop was my studio to meet up with a renter. While waiting, I took a few photos of Élise. For more photos from our day running errands, check out my facebook photo album!

My Made in China photos series is now up at the St. Boniface College’s art gallery. After hours and hours of framing yesterday and a couple more hours of hanging the frames this morning, the photos are now on display at La Galerie. A big thanks to my friend Melissa Finch for helping me set up the show! If you’re interested in checking out the exhibit, you can read more about my series, how I made it, what inspired me, and where you can go to see these photos. More info over at my other blog!

Welcome to my new blog! I’ve created it to keep all of you posted on my latest art projects, as well as any gallery exhibits and shows around Winnipeg that will be showcasing my work.

Right now, I’m deep in the middle of working on my latest photo exhibit with my art collective f/action. We’ve been working on this group photography exhibit since last summer, and soon the labour of our creative work will be displayed at the cre8ery gallery! Our show is titled an instance of some kind and will showcase our collective’s artwork based on the theme fragments. I focused my project on alternative portraits, something with which I had a lot of fun photographing this past fall. I have a few people who volunteered to be a part of the project (including my friend Rebecca Croft, featured in the photo above), and I’m super excited about how the photos turned out.

Now, all that’s left to do is printing/framing/mounting and setting up at the gallery! Here’s the info… don’t forget to mark your calendars!
